Our mission
VIP RSQ is a licensed 501(c)(3) nonprofit
Since 2012 our mission has been dedicated to educating pet owners and to rescuing, providing medical care, training, and rehoming shelter pets. We focus our efforts toward dogs that we feel have odds stacked against them — seniors, bully breeds, larger dogs, and those with medical needs — because we believe all dogs deserve a chance and should be treated like royalty. To us, all are VIPs ~ Very Important Pets!
Our story
VIP RSQ began with one moment that changed everything
When founder Kathleen Dudley walked into an animal control facility in 2003 to adopt a dog, she was heartbroken to see so many wonderful pets facing euthanasia simply for being unwanted or lost. That day, she made a promise to dedicate her life to saving them. What started as one woman’s personal rescue mission grew into a nationwide effort. Kathleen began visiting shelters weekly, rescuing hundreds of dogs and cats, and later joined large-scale efforts during disasters like Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Harvey, helping stranded and injured animals find safety and care. Over the years, her rescue work evolved into VIP RSQ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on compassion, integrity, and action. From saving pets in rural shelters to providing medical care, transport, and education, VIP RSQ continues Kathleen’s lifelong mission to give every animal the second chance they deserve.
